  3 Ways to Use It

  1. Literacy (To write) Just like “read,” we usually pair it with “book” or “letters.”

  • เขียนหนังสือ 📣 (khǐian nǎng-sǔue) — To write (in general) / To write a book.

  • เขียนชื่อ 📣 (khǐian chûue) — To write [one’s] name.

  2. Art & Sketching (To draw lines) While วาด 📣 (wâat) is the specific word for “painting” or “drawing pictures,” เขียน is used for the technical act of drawing lines or patterns.

  • เขียนแบบ 📣 (khǐian bàep) — To draft / To design (blueprints).
