  3 Ways to Use It

  1. The Action (To Give) The most direct use. Handing something to someone.

  • ให้ของ 📣 (hâi khǎawng) — To give a gift/thing.

  • ให้เงิน 📣 (hâi ngern) — To give money.

  2. The Permission (To Let / To Allow) When placed before another verb, it means you are “giving” the opportunity for that action to happen.

  • ให้ไป 📣 (hâi bpai) — To let [someone] go.

  • ให้ทำ 📣 (hâi tham) — To let [someone] do [it].

  3. The Beneficiary (For / To) When placed after a verb, it indicates who the action is being done for. It “transfers” the result of the work to them.

  • ทำมาให้ 📣 (tham maa hâi) — Made [it] for [you] (Made + brought + gave).

  • พูดให้ฟัง 📣 (phûut hâi fang) — Speak for [you] to listen (Speak + give + listen).
