  1. Identifying (That is…)

  • นั่น คือ 📣… (nân khue…) — That is…

  • นั่น คือ อะไร 📣? (nân khue a-rai?) — What is that?

  2. Specifying (That one) *Note: Like “this,” when used after a noun, the tone shifts to High (นั้น – nán).

  • หนังสือ เล่ม นั้น 📣 (nǎng-sǔue lêm nán) — That book.

  • คน นั้น 📣 (khon nán) — That person.

  3. Referring back (That matter) Used to talk about a topic you just mentioned.

  • เรื่อง นั้น 📣 (rûeang nán) — That story / That matter.
